We know from studying the lives of successful people that a millionaire can come from the same modest beginnings as a person who barely pays the bills. What is it that allows one person to succeed in the face of obstacles and the other to fail?
The answer is in the way the successful person perceives situations in their life.
As a member of my Marketing Mastermind Group I know you are committed to succeeding. It’s the decisions you make today that will lead you to success. In order to make those good decisions that lead to success, you must base those decisions on truth.
The thing is, what you believe to be true comes from your own unique perceptions. Those perceptions, unfortunately, sometimes override the truth about what you encounter.
In order to begin moving toward success, you must learn to change those perceptions and, by doing so, change what you believe to be true about the situations you experience.
This process of sensory input, perception and decision occurs constantly and can form a powerful backdrop for your future success.
How to Change Your Perceptions
You may be saying, “Sounds great, but how would I actually go about changing my perceptions?” It begins with taking in new information. It’s surprising how many people will close their minds to information that can set them free in a certain area. The fear of changing their perception of something is simply too powerful.
To be fair, the subconscious mind is incredibly strong, because those automatic cycles of sensing, perceiving and deciding are what keep us alive. Breaking into that cycle and introducing radically new information isn’t what most people enjoy doing. It seems much easier to move through life barely surviving on the perceptions and decisions that come most easily.
But, if you want to move toward a more fulfilling life, introducing truth into your perceptions is essential. The perceptions you have about events, places, or people could be flawed, and until you are willing to accept a new reality, your decisions will be flawed, as well.
That’s where studying new information becomes valuable, not just to know more, but to actually change your perception of things. Accepting input from people who have already succeeded can also shed a whole new light on what you believe is possible. Before you can absorb that new information, however, you must first decide it’s a valuable process.
Decide now that you are willing to learn new information in order to see things differently. Start to seek the truth about your own perceptions and thought processes that are holding you back from success.
