Gaining True Victory Over Your Fears

There is nothing to fear but fear itself. You’ve surely heard this more than a few times in your life.
Fear is your biggest foe. It will not only try to conquer you, it will have you fighting against yourself to overcome it. Your own fear is your toughest opponent, in your personal and your business life.
But, overcoming your fear is well worth the fight.
Imagine the tremendous feeling of not being afraid anymore.
The rewards you receive when you face challenges and obstacles, when you overcome and conquer your fears, will step up your life and your business.
Throughout the past couple of years, some of my own worst fears have manifested. But, I’ve dealt with them, and the beauty is that I’m no longer afraid of those things.
Every time you bust through a fear, other things will happen that allow you to put that fear behind you. You’ll gain emotional energy because your subconscious energy won’t be tied up in that fear any longer. It’s like getting more energy every day.
Think about it. What would you offer the world if you could stop being fearful? What would you do if you weren’t afraid? What would you do if ridicule or rejection or losing your money or losing your family didn’t scare you? What would you do?
You would be unstoppable.
Another reward of facing your fears is the confidence you get from doing that. Don’t misinterpret confidence as being equal to cockiness or arrogance. The kind of confidence you gain when you stand up to your fears and challenges isn’t like that at all.
Confidence, in the true meaning of the word, literally means “with faith.” That’s what is on offer as you learn to step up.
What would it mean to you to live in total faith? What would your life be like knowing that whatever happens is for the best? You wouldn’t be afraid of anything. Even if something unexpected should happen, you would know that it’s actually a blessing in disguise.
Imagine living every day of your life like that.
Of course, monetary reward is another huge benefit you reap when you step up and take on the challenges and fears head on.
But to be perfectly honest, I think you will find that the emotional gain you get when you’re playing a bigger game – when you realize the game can only grow bigger and bigger because you’re unstoppable – that is the real reward, the true victory in winning your battle against fear.

A great article, really inspirational. I always get a lot out of your blogs, but fear you give away too much, so that people like me don’t need to buy the teleseminar. Over time, all your wisdom is there for the taking.
Of course I accept that not everyone is a reader, and that some prefer the aural or one-to-one experience.
For the good of your business, you might consider stopping just short of handing over the “keys to the castle” in your writing. I’m not saying this in my own self-interest, as I would like the flow of insights to continue!

Thanks for your comments and advice – I appreciate you want to protect my interests.
I have to say though, that I make my business decisions from faith, not fear, and I’m not afraid of giving away the ‘keys to the castle’.
I know that whatever people gain from this blog, it’s less than 1% of what they get through experiencing my coaching communities or live events.
So I dispute that ‘all my wisdom is here for the taking’ – trust me, whatever you get here is just a smidge compared to what is truly on offer!

If there is one thing I have learnt from Bernadette it’s that if I am not feeling uncomfortable I am not trying hard enough.
Actually I have learnt a lot more things from Bernadette
but whatever I learn none of it is any use without the courage to use it.

Perhaps I can help. Like you I’ve been following Bernadette’s blog and newsletters for a good long while now. But I’ve just returned from her 3 day More Leads More Clients More Sales event and it has completely exceeded my expectations.
Firstly, I’ve come back hugely better informed with lots of very practical stuff that’s directly relevant to my business, which I can implement immediately.
But that’s really the least of it. This is hard to communicate in a brief post, but there’s been a shift in my outlook and in what I feel able to expect of myself. I’m not someone who jumps up and down a lot in public (far too English for that!) but – how can I describe it? – the future looks different now. There’s a clear path of action, certainly, but it’s also more coherent with the things I really want to achieve. That’s something you can’t get here on the blog.

I’ve just got back from one of Bernadette’s events this weekend – More Leads, More Clients, More Sales and Peter, believe me, “you ain’t seen nothing yet”!!
The live event was absolutely amazing, and the 200 people who were there will all tell you that Bernadette creates a magical experience for us all in many different ways and at different times with different media. She is by no means undermining her ability to ‘sell’ by giving so much, she is opening the way for people to want more from someone who they trust will deliver.
Sorry if I appear a bit too evangelical but this weekend really helped me to conquer my fears and my business looks very different this week, and I know that is similar for many more of the people who were there this weekend.
Maybe we might see you on our (Bernadette’s!) marketing mastermind forum at some point Peter, you would be very welcome

Wise word and they were really brought home to me by some of the things you said at your More Leads,More Clients,More Sales event last weekend.
What specifically hit the mark for me was when you said that we were doing a disservice to our clients if we were not letting them know how we could help them.
So I guess a lot of that is down to fear. I am also adopting the wise words of Amy Palmer too -it’s not about you.

I too have just returned from her More Leads, More Clients, More Sales conference. Over the past 2+ years, I’ve benefited not only from B’s free stuff but even more so from the products I’ve bought and events I’ve paid to attend.
Oh, if only you knew! Go on….book yourself onto the next one, I dare ya!
There’s a huge difference between information and transformation.
I think it’s great that Bernadette gives so much in her blogs and newsletter articles. And she’s right when she says you get about 1% of the results achievable from live events. I tried to work out what she was doing by watching from the outside but never got the same results.
Since attending Bernadette’s live events and joining, group and 1-1 mentoring and the thing
s I get are:

Had a complete transformation of my mindset

I absolutely agree with everything that has been said. I think the main difference between Bernadette and so many so-called experts is that Bernadette has such a wealth of knowledge and expertise as well as sincerity, compassion and passion, that whatever she gives away for free simply pales in comparison to what she offers through her teleseminars and live events. I, too, have just come back from ‘More Leads, More Clients, More Sales’, and am bowled away by what I learned – and it’s not just about information, it is also all about understanding yourself, others, and what we all have to give.
This is a brilliant article – yet again. I have already launched into several ventures this week that I would never have dared to do even last week. I have decided to stand up to my fears and say ‘I WILL do this’ despite my fears.
I have so many quotes on fear and courage, but one of my favourite is this: “If you continuously face challenges, one of two things can happen: you either collapse under the strain, lose confidence in your ability and walk away defeated; or you win a few impossibles and are encouraged to have a go at the next impossible. So that before long, you find the impossibles have become possible.”
I know which one I’m going to choose.
